General Attendance Principles
- Employees must regularly attend work to fulfil their contractual obligations.
- Personal appointments should be made outside working hours if possible. If not, they should be arranged for the beginning or end of the working day or at lunchtime to minimise disruption.
- You need prior authorisation from your manager before attending such an appointment.
- The management team has discretion in authorising a specific period of absence, which may be with or without pay, or by agreeing to annual holiday or pre-authorised flexi-time being taken at short notice.
- Non-Attendance: Frequent or long-term absences cause operational difficulties. Where absence levels are concerning, your manager will meet with you to discuss the issues and underlying causes. You may be referred to Occupational Health.
