Modern Slavery Statement Policy
Commitment
Deeply Digital has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and commits to complying with the provisions of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This requires an ongoing review of both internal labour practices and supply chains.
- The company does not enter into business with any organisation that knowingly supports or involves itself in slavery, servitude, and forced or compulsory labour.
- Deeply Digital expects the same high standards from all contractors, suppliers, and other business partners.
- Contracting processes include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour.
Definitions
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. Deeply Digital considers it to encompass:
- Slavery and servitude, and human trafficking.
- Forced and compulsory work through mental or physical threat.
- Being owned or controlled by an employer through mental or physical abuse or the threat of abuse.
- Being dehumanised, treated as a commodity, or bought or sold as property.
- Being physically constrained or having restrictions placed on freedom of movement.
Mitigation and Policies
- Deeply Digital considers its exposure to slavery/human trafficking to be relatively limited but has taken steps to ensure such practices do not occur in its business or its supply chain.
- The Employee Handbook contains policies on Ethical Working, Equal Opportunities, Whistleblowing, CSR, and Modern Slavery, which can be used to address concerns.
- The recruitment policy is robust, with all permanent employees recruited directly. Identification and right to work checks are conducted to verify identity, ensure employees are over 18, and reduce the risk of abuse.
