Sickness Payments
- Statutory Sick Pay (SSP): Employees are entitled to SSP from the 4th day of absence for up to 28 weeks, subject to satisfactory certification.
- Company Sick Pay (CSP): The Company Sick Pay Scheme is inclusive of any SSP entitlement.
- Eligibility: You are entitled to CSP after completing 6 months' continuous service.
- Maximum Entitlement (in any 52 week period):
- Less than 6 months employment: Nil (SSP only)
- 6 months to 2 years employment: 1 week (5 working days) full pay
- 2 years to 5 years employment: 2 weeks' (10 working days) full pay
- 5 years to 10 years employment: 2 months' full pay
- Over 10 years employment: 3 months' full pay
- Long-Term Sick Leave: If you have been continuously on long-term sick leave for more than a year, you will not qualify for CSP again until you have returned to work for a total of 26 weeks.
- Unpaid Sickness: Employees not eligible for SSP will take that period of sickness as unpaid, with no basic pay or variable payments (like bonuses). Annual leave continues to accrue at the statutory entitlement (pro rata up to 28 days per annum).
